After several years as a clothing designer,manufacturer,wholesaler and retailer I had an opportunity to work on a home in South Florida in the capacity of an interior designer. I so loved the project and its end result that I began doing an increasing amount of interior design work. The mindset and talent regarding special dimensions and textile knowledge and composition is very similar in both professions and I found the transition to be one of great ease.
I have now been exclusively in the area of interior design for nearly 15 years.
I have extensive comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the design field as I am a general contractor and furniture manufacturer as well as owned and designed for an 8000 square foot wholesale to the trade showroom in Pasadena California. In that showroom I represented 40 different fabric lines, 20 different furniture lines, flooring ,lighting, bedding ,dishes, towels and everything needed for a turn key installation.
Gigi Rogers Interior Hotel Design The showroom was photographed and to be featured in an upcoming book "the 100 Most beautiful stores in the world".
I also manufactured a line of accessories for the Patina showroom in the Pacific Design center and for 2 showrooms in San Francisco as well.
I have participated with honor in the Pasadena Showcase home on 2 occasions in 2000 and 2001 and donated much in furniture and accessories to a few other showcase homes.
I have been published quite extensively in Sunset magazine,Los Angeles magazine, Interiors, House and Garden , In Style and Angelino. I have been featured on HGTV on many occasions with shows from Christopher Lowell, Awesome Interiors, Kitty Bartholomew, and E! entertainment. I have had entertainment clients with homes featured as well.
I would consider myself as highly creative and unabashed in my efforts to create individuality on each project. Each installation for me stands on its own and doesn't have a "stamped out" or typical look or style. Each project is customized primarily to the clients individual taste, needs and budgetary constraints.
HTC Hospitality I am a staunchly firm believer in several aspects of design that define my philosophy. There are certain aspects such as comfort and functionality that must be addressed primarily. Congruency in style and tonal quality are key in creating a harmonious and comfortable environment. I also strongly believe that ceilings should be addressed as the 5th wall as it is in European custom. A room cannot be successfully completed without addressing the ceiling either with consistency with its surroundings or to create its own level of interest.
I also believe that color is key to a successful outcome. Color and its subtle undertones as well as balancing it is of the utmost importance. Color and its tone can create an entire mood for a room and different colors scientifically evoke emotion. Color however must be properly balanced as its incorrect use can detract from the overall room.
Acoustics and its ability to transform a room into tranquility is of utmost importance as well as the aesthetics in creating a mood or feeling which affects the individual, client or customer and creates an atmosphere conducive to the setting.
